LOOKING FORWARD TO AUGUST
This week, I bought another Beta glow fish, and a new tire. All of that driving has taken a toll and a piece of metal was lodged in the tire at one point. I had a pilot as a passenger again, and we talked about improv and him giving announcements over the intercom during flights, and him thinking about joining a Toastmasters speech class.I also had a client who told me about his own hip hop group and we talked about how hip hop can be a little easier to do if you're in a band because you don't always need the backup instrumental, you can just have a rapper and a mic.

I've always sat in on Toastmasters, but have yet to give a speech, memorizing it seems to be my biggest trip. I can write a speech in now time flat.

ReplyDeleteYou know when I really freeze up, is when I'm on stage and I have to introduce a large group of people or really pitch an idea. I don't know if its the rejection of the idea that draws the most fear or what.

This Toastmasters is so great. It's based in South Bay California, I believe and the host takes the time to asks what newcomers think of it. This is actually one of the largest toastmasters I've seen on Zoom and they improv for like a hour hour at the very end.

ReplyDeleteI love that you are having such interesting journeys during the ride shares. The last time I was in Orlando I had to use Lyft and Uber as my husband ended up in hospital and he was scared the hire car was too big for me to drive (sorry that’s a whole other story) but I loved meeting the drivers, one guy was running quizzes in his car which was great for the kids.
