           LOOKING FORWARD TO APRIL

This week was rainy as all get out.  I liked the rain forest feeling and my second week house sitting. I found myself pulling the sliding door and getting outside as often as I could.  I even barbequed outside right before we were pelted with the big drops.

I started a new health care job which kept me busy with orientating and meeting new people. I enjoy the job, its closer to home and has a lot of perks.

I also went to a Twins baseball game outdoors. Lots of chanting and cheering, and singing to "Take me OUT to the ball game" and fireworks. We scored ten runs! And sent the Seattle Mariners packing. The best part of the game was chiding with my siblings, both my brother and sister sat on either side of me and we had on these gigantic blue ponchos to combat the rain and we took some really silly selfies.

I often dared my siblings to do some crazy dance to get on the jumbotron. One woman was hit by a fly ball behind us and I felt terrible as fans stood to give whirly siren gestures to indicate she needed help ASAP. Despite that it was a great week overall, one I felt deep in my soul.

CURRENTLY 

I only started this one, but its funny for the most part.

I had to read Carol Goodman book, "The Night Visitors' I loved Goodman's first novel 'Lake of Dead Languages.'  and You can feel the same tone in this one, and the mutl-perspective given from chapter to chapter. This novel is about a family running from the law great energy. I also love that the family got on the greyhound because I once took a great hound from Minnesota to Ohio to go to a conference.

I'm enjoying 'Broadchurch' I'll read almost any book that's made it to a movie. So if you got one in mind let me know in the comments below.

           LOOKING FORWARD TO april

I did a lot of improv online this week and improv in the park.  The park prov was great because we got to move around a lot and play games like 'Rephrase' , 'Forward and backward' and 'Pass the Baby'.  I also watched a movie on Amazon Prime called 'Archive' (I highly recommend it)  Its a Sci-Fi movie about George Almore who is working on a true human-equivalent AI in Japan. He has a goal that must be hidden at all costs: being reunited with his dead wife.

I almost forgot to mention that I'm house sitting for my brother. He has a dog, two cats and two guinea pigs. I love the area where he lives, although he does live thirty minutes away (so there's that). His neck of the woods brings back a lot of childhood memories, because my grandmother's home was also in that area and I used to visit her like eight times a year. And his home is equipped with a treadmill, garage, and bath tub (luxuries I do not have). So I've been all about the baths and exercising at home.

I liked this book and was surprised to learn this author also wrote 'Julie and Julie' which inspired my blog writing more than ten years ago

I've been learning about Buddhism and some of its teaching, including living in the moment.I like to read on the treadmill, some people can't handle it because it makes them dizzy but I like hitting two birds with one stone.

           LOOKING FORWARD TO MARCH

This week I started drinking turmeric tea as well as chai. I never drank loose leaf- I don't have a filter or specific tea pot.

I also listened to people talk about ZOOM bombers (people who drop into ZOOM calls uninvited) and how platforms like JTSU don't have waiting rooms or passwords unless you upgrade your account.

I also got on the topic of Dirty Dancing' and the Catskills and how a lot of Comedians got their start in the Catskills and used something called Borscht Belt humor which refers to the rapid-fire, self-deprecating style.

CURRENTLY 

I liked Vanishing Half once I took a closer look at it a year later. A virtual club was reading it and boy the dynamics in this family.  I loved that one of the characters was a bounty hunter. I think in a previous life I may have been a bounty hunter.

I have to admit that I loved this story: 'A Love letter to Whiskey'--very steamy and I loved the fact that it takes place in San Diego, my all time favorite vacation spot.(My brother was stationed in Camp Pendelton-so we often stayed there)

           LOOKING FORWARD TO MARCH

This week I talked to writers about their process.  I learned that Tom Wolfe used to get fully dressed everyday, and type at least ten triple spaced pages. Getting dressed made him feel professional.  He wrote to make money, and as writers its important to know you owe something to the work--its not just the other way around. 

Neil Gaiman's wrote: 'You plant seeds in the fertilizer but you have to have patience while it sprouts.  

This week I got my nails done and did some pampering. I tried to look into buying a new used car, and I worked a bit on our Youtube channel.

CURRENTLY 

Interested to see what this Thriller is all about.

Piper Malone gave a talk on her book last week and it was exciting to see an author on ZOOM give a talk on the writing process and marketing your brand.

I liked this book a lot, but it may not be for everyone. There's some eccentricity in the main character.  It takes place in Turkey and that's why I picked it up.  After reading 'Bastard of Istanbul' I wanted to read more Turkish authors, and noticed this author has a book award.

           LOOKING FORWARD TO March

This week was like spring had came and decided to live in Minnesota for a week. It was great to pick up passengers and hear them talk about the weather, or walking their dog.  One of my clients had plans to go to Arizona and get a rescued dog. Another couple had plans to go to Florida to see their son's golf tournament. Another woman was making a brave trip to New York by herself. 

Artistic director, Regan Linton of Phamaly Theatre in Colorado was on our channel.  Regan also gave a Ted talk a while back and Bonus, I'm featured in this video as well.

CURRENTLY 

I may read everyone of Armistead's books, they are that great. Armistead is an American novelist best known for his Tales of the City series, which chronicles the lives of the eccentric inhabitants of an apartment complex, affectionately called by its address, 28 Barbary Lane, in 1970s San Francisco. Maupin grew up in North Carolina.

This is supposed to be a real great novel. It reads a lot like Nonfiction. Here is a synopsis The Liar's Dictionary, "queasy with knowledge," is an audacious, idiosyncratic dual love story about how language and people intersect and connect, and about how far we'll go to save what we're passionate about.

           LOOKING FORWARD TO march

This week more snow which was cool. Most of it melted within an hour. I enjoyed some virtual comedy and dressed my son for various dress up days at his school. My son loves to wear his spider man costume -the same one from Halloween and will use any occasion to wear it again while he's pretending to throw spider webs at nearly everyone.

I looked at the positive this week, and here's the list I came up with:

Thank God for quilted northerns

for seeing my son get on the bus

for little wimbs and passages.

Grateful for baby steps and nice lighting, incense.

Thankful for shoes and names like Sterling.

Thankful for people who do comedy in cars.

I took this picture while waiting for this woman to get into the ride share. Its near a hotel called Fossil near Mall of America. The passenger was in town to see the Floyd B memorial and other sites.

This is one of my son's favorite videos that he watches all the time , made by a family on Youtube called FV family

and the next video is my son's reenactment of the video.

CURRENTLY

The Doll Factory is a book I'm still getting into. Its supposed to be historical fiction and based on obsession

This is the second time I've been recommended Mr. Fox, but I've had a hard time getting into it.

A booktuber talked about this 'If I can't have you' book and suggested how the main character is someone you grow to love despite her making some pretty awful decisions.  The setting is in the UK. I adored it and it has some obsession.

I loved this book book as well. The main character is laid off and she struggles with living as a quote unquote housewife, even though she's not really married and her boyfriend is studying to be a plastic surgeon.

I was supposed to finish this fantasy book for a virtual book club but found myself behind this week.

I got into this book as well as the main character I believe is on Parole and her parole officer has taken a liking to her, but she's all business trying to discover some truths behind a crime involving her best friend. It seemed futuristic somehow.
