LOOKING FORWARD to August

This week I got some new tires as they were balding.  My travelling mechanic (from Craigslist) tried to say I needed tire rods but all I needed were new tires and an alignment thanks to the dealership who confirmed.
I finally bought another car. It's a Toyota Corolla equipped with a moon roof and leather seats. Gorgeous.
Its my son's sixth birthday on Tuesday and I bought him a few toys and he'll see his aunt, uncles and cousins for a small party. As you can see above he got a fake tattoo and insisted he wanted a permanent one until I told him about the pain involved.

Lastly I drove for ride-share and this woman was with her husband and said she forgot her phone at the hotel(on the way to airport) so we hurried back.  In the car ride she told me she lives in San Diego(Lucky!) and we got in a discussion about the military since my brother was stationed in San Diego (Marines) for many years. Then her husband chimed in with I had wanted to be a military dentist until I had worked alongside this dentist who complained about how no one should become a dentist.
I nodded my head and agreed, glad that you decided to work in military administration and work his way up the ladder.

I re-read this book this week.  If anyone can think of some books that have 'premonition' or dream-like states, or aging like sequences like the "Age of Adaline" Let me me know because I love thinking about concepts like this.

  3. I enjoyed In Five Years a lot. I wish I could think of some other books like it. Time After Time, maybe?

Your son is adorable! Glad you held firm on the real tattoo...My son got one when he was too young to make a good decision and he regrets it.

  4. I hope your son had a great birthday. Kids are funny with what they want aren't they. The ride share sounds interesting. I've not heard of that before.

    Have a great week ahead!
