LOOKING FORWARD TO AUGUST
This week driving for Ride share, I got into discussions about big cities, and whether Minnesota is fast paced, slow or in between. I've only ever lived in Minnesota, but I've been to big cities like New York and I've read countless of books that are based in New York, like Sweetbitter by Stephanie Danler, Goldfinch By Donna Tartt, and My Little Life by Hanya Yanagiharato to name a few. And I think New York is pretty great ,but expensive!
I feel like things are pretty spread apart in Minnesota, and if you live in St Paul, you're always commuting to Minneapolis and vice versa to do things. I keep real busy but I've been to small country towns like Jordon and Belle Plane and I've been curious what those folks do out there for fun.
I also tried Thai curl icecream and spent some time learning about artists like Keith Haring and Japanese Artist Yayoi Kasuma.

ReplyDeleteI live in a small town that is just south of a big city, Houston. Our town is very slow-paced. Houston has everything anyone could want. Best of both worlds.

I think our pace is pretty quick here in Southern California. I live about 40 miles north of Los Angeles and it seems that way to me. Lol on the Woody and Buzz photo. :)

DeleteOh no! I hope Buzz can get Woody up and safe. LOL That's cute. I live in a medium size city that is kind of spread out. For the longest time, my daughter thought we lived in the country. There are people with horses and chickens not too far from us, so I suppose I could see how she could think that. :-)

ReplyDeleteI also much prefer small towns to cities, if for no other reason than less traffic! My town has 5 traffic lights and they are all on the one street (which used to be a highway before a bypass was built).
