I've decided to review one expat blog, plus a food writing blog.  Now its quite a combination to look for blogs in the early morning, lets say Five am but the newest place that I look for food writing blogs make it easy at www.saveur.com  And than expatsblog.com

1.www.smittenkitchen.com This blog jumped at me because it rhymes and I love poems and rhyming. The chef behind this blog is Deb Perelman who writes a book called The Smitten Kitchen Cookbook.  I love this post on  Spaghetti with Chickpeas .  What an amazing combination! Its best suited to eat right before you're ready to run a marathon.  I like Perelman's overhead shots of her recipes and ingredients.  She must have an overhead drone above her while she's cooking or else a very large stool.





2.tikichris.com/ is an expat blog from London.  Now if you know anything about London you know that it has very Chic businesses.  Chris has a post called London Daily Photo: High Street and it features a post on what I presume to be clothing store with a black manikin in a white slim fitting dress.  What I love about London is that they got all these old school shops juxtaposed with neat organized merchandise.

This is Off the Script

I went to a new YMCA in St. Paul on 875 Arcade St. It was unique in that it had an indoor playground for children equipped with a jungle gym, stationary climbing truck and playground set inside a semi enclosed glass wall and doors.  Perfect for a parent who wants to walk around the indoor track ten million times all the while watching their little ones in the indoor playground.

On top of that the track also circles a basketball court on the first floor so that you could watch your middle/high school kid take on the world of B-ball.  You could even call them out from above "Heyyyy Johnny or Heyyy Sasha." (Or what have you).

LOOKING FORWARD TO MAY

This week has been a busy one for me.  I listened to actor, Mandy Patinkin, give a about how important it is to feel uncomfortable and feel fear and embrace ti. To sit and feel it for a while and knows what’s going on with yourself, and to breathe in and out and know that you're not dying. To acknowledge the fear. Click here to listen to the talk.
And I think that's true. You can’t grow as a person if you don’t put yourself into tough situations.  I think the scariest thing about doing improv, lately, is thinking to myself ‘what's after this?’

This wasn’t part of ‘my plan’. Mandy talks about how he doesn't regret the decisions he's made in his life "he’s just in them"

I sat in my apartment yesterday and embraced the feeling of fear and not wanting to go to Improv. It was raining cats and dogs and improv started at 6:30pm. Around six o'clock, I sat with my fear and then told myself how much I needed to do it and how much I could contribute to the improv group and then I just 'showed up' and I'm glad I did.

During improv, I listened to a guy talk about Charlie Victor Romeo- which is a movie based on a play. The script consists of almost-verbatim transcripts from six real aviation accidents and incidents, (including flight 232). The guy said that he watched the movie on YouTube and it was intense. I went home late and watched it and it was intense. I highly recommend it.

Over the weekend, I also saw 9 state troopers(in the span of 15 miles). I started getting worried after the fourth one and then I went online to see what's up, and it said that more cops are on the road to catch distracted drivers. And then I saw that they made a big deal out of David Beckham being banned from driving for using his mobile phone (as if that's really going to stop him:)
