This is Off the Script

I went to a new YMCA in St. Paul on 875 Arcade St. It was unique in that it had an indoor playground for children equipped with a jungle gym, stationary climbing truck and playground set inside a semi enclosed glass wall and doors.  Perfect for a parent who wants to walk around the indoor track ten million times all the while watching their little ones in the indoor playground.

On top of that the track also circles a basketball court on the first floor so that you could watch your middle/high school kid take on the world of B-ball.  You could even call them out from above "Heyyyy Johnny or Heyyy Sasha." (Or what have you).

Free Write on a Nomad

Free Write on a Nomad
Darkness, darkness destruction
She has the life that every nomad wanted.
Tossing, turning thwarting up the hills of Duluth,
Cascading, blending, unraveling
down the steep inclines
watching her seasoned enamored short footsteps
with the patterns steps of the cobblestone.
Her heaviness tells the story of one too many dough-nut holes,
sharp cheddar jack cheese and lofty butter
The soup kitchen awaits at the top of the last hill
One last shroud of hope
That gives purpose to her day.
Eating has manifested itself
to her sweaty blouse
saggy breasts that at one time time stole the heavenly lives
of bedazzled young lads.

#111 -Sheila found the BUm

Bernardo was found sitting in the park.  The fact that Sheila found him was quite the luck,..

Under 3 sections of the newspaper, he was laying, ruffled dirty, clothes strewn around him despite the fact that the sun was rising and obviously warmer than it had been the night before.  The park itself was enclosed, oval shaped, with two walk ways coordinating paths that wrapped themselves around flower beds.

Its center fountain was surrounded with colored tiles.  Parks like this could only be found in crowded cities where some park conservationist thought it would be important to the the well being of one and all.  The park was for lonely young women, the poor, and where mothered could take their tykes.
