On Wednesday I went to a dance class at the YMCA, which just felt good — nothing complicated, just moving.
Later that day, I stopped by the Eagan, MN library and bumped into someone who was checking out the studio microphones. Since my son and I have been working on his YouTube channel, I recognized the equipment right away. The library has a Yeti microphone and a small recording room with sound-insulated walls. The person I talked to said they were recording a poem they had written. I mentioned how great it would be if the library offered podcast workshops for everyone.
Thursday — Our Improv Fundraiser
Thursday was our improv fundraiser, and it turned out to be a great success. That night we raised $90 for Strike Theater, and the audience was wonderfully responsive.
There were so many odd and funny moments:
I entered one scene as a palm tree on a Belize vacation brochure.
Someone else came in as a witch, and suddenly I was the good witch while they were doing voodoo on the island (at least I hope they did).
We kept heightening, and the audience stayed right with us.
One of the best parts was showing up as the leader for our team. Everyone was already gathered and waiting when I arrived, and I got to guide the start of the night. It made me feel grounded for the day.
On Saturday,, I finally got my brakes and front rotors fixed. I hired someone from Craigslist — a little risky — but he finished everything in under an hour and for less than $300. I was relieved it worked out so well.
That’s my week, tell me about yours in comments below

Sounds like you had a good and busy week. I hope you have a good week this week.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a good week. Have a great Thanksgiving week!
ReplyDeleteOur Team on Thursday was absolutely so much fun! It was for a great cause and I think our final total for the Rubber Ducky Chicken Society was $370.
ReplyDeleteWhich in my opinion is absolutely Ducky!
You got a good deal hiring someone from craigslist and getting the job done so fast.
